Rasulan

Every year, it held a traditional ceremony called Rasulan in Batur Village. The event is usually held on Mondays Pahing, the day in the Javanese calendar. This custom is a custom of hereditary celebrated since the days of our forefathers. In fact, this custom has existed in the days before Islam arrived in Indonesia. So many shades in this traditional Hindu ceremony as this part of the rundown.
In the past, people carried out Rasulan as an expression of gratitude to the Dewi Sri, the goddess of agriculture and prosperity which is trusted by the community as a goddess who has provided sustenance and prosperity of our village. So this event is also called the Merti Desa. People then took various food crops to be paraded to the village hall which is then executed Grebeg event.
However, the conduct of the event has now changed, although there are some rituals that are performed as Grebeg and prayer together. These changes there over the times, especially after Islam came. Hindu rituals are being wiped out but some are still included by incorporating the teachings of Islam in it. For example, the ritual of burning incense is removed. Grebeg event which was originally dedicated to Dewi Sri, but is now intended as a gratitude to God for sustenance has been given to the public. The event which was originally offered prayers to Goddess Sri, now replaced by the prescribed prayers in Islam that was taught by the Prophet Muhammad.
All the cultural fusion could not be separated from Sunan Kalijaga services that have spread Islam in Java. It is the acculturation of values in the teachings of the Hindu religion with values in the teachings of Islam. It also makes Indonesia is rich in diverse cultures. Culture is already supposed to be our guard and we preserve and we make as a means of attaching our brotherhood despite the different ethnic races, religion and culture. Not quite the contrary, accentuate differences causing dissension.
